The Designers of, "The Hills."....

You gotta give it up to the girls of one of my fave hit TV shows, "The Hills", on Mtv.  The series is over already, after I think, 6 seasons...2 of which Lauren Conrad aka LC, from "Laguna Beach," retired.  This post is not dedicated to show, I can talk about that another time.  I've seen every episode probably more than once.  You know Mtv, they re-run things to death.  So luckily I was hooked this reality series that was really based on LC, & her new life in LA as an intern at Teen Vogue.  So of course, her friends on the show became stars as well.  Very fast actually.  Everyone wanted a piece of them.  They looked good, they were themselves...there was a lot of drama.  So yeah, it was a hit.  But anyway, during the show, most of these girls became famous so quickly that they wanted to make a brand for themselves and quick.  So all of them went the designer route.  We all knew LC was on that path, considering that was what the show was "based" on, although social lives were more the focus.  I'll come back to LC's designs in a minute. 

Let's talk about Audrina Partridge.  Yeah you either lover her or hater her, but I feel like that goes for any one of those girls on this show or any reality show.  I like Audrina, she's a genuinely good person I feel.  She's not confrontantional & she's got some awesome rock-n-roll fashion going on.  Again, it's about what u can pull off and Audrina has got that look down.  She has an awesome body, so she's skinny enough to even show off her tummy while wearing her famous jeans, "Divine Rights Of Denim."  Now these are basically Audrina's jeans.  She advertises for them, & by now she helps with new style & contributes to the less expensive label as compared to LC's line, (which is ridicuously overpriced for the items). 

There's Audrina in the Divine Denim.  These jeans you can get a store like http://www.forver21.com/., as compared to the JET jeans that I always speak about that go for at least $185 now.  All the designers, Jbrand, Current Elliott, JET, Siwy...they are all expensive.  And now girls out there, like myself see Audrina rocking these jeans, that range from $34-80!  And they're cool!  Jeans are hard to buy for girls.  You need to get the right fit and I know it's hard to switch labels when u already feel comfortable in one, but I do it all the time.  This way I know what I love, hate, like or idk.:)

Audrina out of the Hills girls, when it comes to clothing advertisment or designs, lets say...In my opinion, Audrina did the best.  She didn't create a whole line, she just backed a pair a jeans & put her name on them, basically.  And you know what, Divine Denim was so high in demand when The Hills were on, & I think still are, especially for the pple that can't buy the expensive jeans. 

I have two pairs of Divine Rights.  This tie dye pair above.  I got them b/c I saw the candid pics of Audrina on my reliable celeb style sites and ordered them right away.  They were less than $100, that's for sure.  They're maybe my cheapest pair of jeans, but only in price, cuz I love them.  I don't pull them off as well as Audrina, (cuz no matter what anyone says, & even tho I'm small, she has a bangin body), that can't be compared to mine. 

Too bad us girls feel that way about ourselves sometimes.  And from watching The Hills, you know that Audrina has some confidence or self-esteem issues herself, or least when it came to Justin Bobby.  Haha, but that's another story.

I just wanted to show a picture of Audrina candidly.  This outfit shows off her rocker instinct taste.  The high suede boots, the booty shorts, the plain, (I'm almost sure Kain label tee), which isn't covering her butt, by the way.  So you see, she's cool & she doesn't have to rock expensive jeans to look like an A celebrity. 

She is gorgeous.  I know different guys have different opinions, but I always say, I bet if you met her in person, it would be different! One other thing about Audrina I like, you can always catch her in some big ass earings.  And she certainly has the face to pull them off, as where the other girls, nah.  Maybe Kristin Cavallari, but that's it. 

So, now for Lauren Conrad's big design career.  She's super talented, she's dedicated, determined & she works hard, I'll def give her that.  She's def pretty, another natural beauty...def have gotten better looking along the years tho.  But they all did, except for Heidi, of course!  Anyway, The Lauren Conrad Collection.  It comes out and....BLAH!

I'm sure a lot of girls like this plain, simple style, but as you all know by now, that's not really my cup of tea.  But on top of not being my style, the whole collection was completely overpriced, & is still overpriced, (altho I heard she was coming out with a line for Target or something.  Prob cuz no one wants to spend $65 on just a cami!).  So that's my opinion on her clothin line.  It's not very much.

Lauren pulls it off well, I admit.

But this is how I'd rather see Lauren.  She's wearing nothing that consists of her clothing line.  She's wearing a Fluxus pkt tee, jbrand skinny jeans, Miu Miu shoes & carrying a Baleciaga. 

Much better.  I have that Fluxus tee, & those jeans.  I want thsoe shoes!!!!

Now we got pretty much the last one, Whitney Port, whose originally from The Hills, but to further her career, she left Teen Vogue & started an internship at DVF in NYC, creating the hit spinoff, "The City."

So Whitney finally comes out with a line after LC.  It's not really a hit with the fashion world.  I mean it's flirty & fun, but there are a lof of eccentric pieces that I'm not sure pple were ready for, or even liked for that matter.  The one thing about the Whitney Eve Line, in my opinion, is that all the clothes look like they were made FOR Whitney, or only Whitney could pull the looks off, unless ur the supermodel strutting down the runway.  They look good in garbage bags, those models. 

See, I can picture Whitney in any of those outfits. 

I really think she's very pretty though.  She has a model body & she's super nice, or was the nicest on the show before she left.  LC is a little hard on her friends, for my taste.  Like get out of there business, if they want to make mistakes, let them.  Whitney never wanted to cause trouble, I think!  And if trouble was coming toward Audrina, I don't really think she knew it. 

Very eccentric, & colorful! & not that cheap either! So...verdict for me is a NO.

But of course good for her!

Heidi Montag.

Do I even mention The Heidiwood collection.  Yes and for only one reason.  Failure. 

Horrible clothes.  Slutty mostly.  Like present Heidi.  I don't even know what she was thinking besides money when she designed these clothes.  We obvisouly know she doesn't care about her repuatation & will never be taken seriously anymore, but c'mon...I would be embarassed. 

I like to think of Heidi in the before picture.  I mean even the after pic, in the white bikini, she's still kinda there.  But now, Heidi Montag is gone. 

This is her.  How unfortunate.  She was a regular girl.  Although everytime I watch The Hills, I like Heidi's character, I guess I shoulda put that in quotations, cuz idk even know if she know's who she is anymore. 

This a pic that I like to remember of Heidi.  I love her JET slasher jeans, which I have, & the rest of her designer getup.  She used to look good in that street style way, she just kept getting sluttier & sluttier as her heel were getting higher & higher.   But we can all remember Heidi however we want.  Or not remember her at all!  Cuz I know some pple out there reading prob hate her!

But in reality it's sad.

Anway, that's my take on that.  What did ya think?  I just think the moral of this post is that if ur gonna buy something from one of these girls, buy the Divine Denim!!!!

Oh ok, my hubby just got up & my alone time is over.   Talk to you guys soon.  I need to get stoned & get to bed early tonight.  If I'm up all night, I'll be smoking all night=no weed in the morning, which is unacceptable!

90210 & Gossip Girl = Monday Night Bliss...

90210 & Gossip Girl!!!!

So let's talk some 90210 first, based on the series 10yrs ago...The CW came up with a fresh new idea.  Get some new hot faces & let's make a Beverly Hills 90210 for today's generation, dropping the "Beverly Hills." The new 90210 was an instant hit.

The OLD, but still rememberd 90210 days.

So the new cast promo pic, we got Navid, respectivally, Adrianna, (Jessica Lowndes), Naomi, (Annalynne Mcord), Liam, (Matt Lanter), Annie, (Shenae Grimes), Silver, (Jessica Stroup), & Dixon.  Now others of course have been added like Ivy, Teddy, Naomi's evil sister Jen, etc... Annie & Dixon's parents, are played by Lori Loughlin, from "Full House", & Rob Estes, who was only in the first season, while Lori stayed. They wrote him out by divorcing Annie's & Dixon's parent's. 

These 3 girls are great, I still don't know how Annie fits in with them.  Naomi, Silver, & Adrianna, are the epitamy of "Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills", fashion.  The designer bags, the shoes, the dresses, even their bikinis.  They're all drop dead gorgeous, especially Adrianna, (in my hubby's opinion), but yes they are all super beautiful.  I mean not many ppl can pull of a bunch of different short haircuts like Silver can!  She looks beautiful no matter what kinda hairdo she has that week, plus, I like her spunk.  Naomi is the "Kelly Taylor" 2010 version.  She always looks good & I want her entire wardrobe.  But yes these girls lives look perfect, but damn, they have all gone thru so much the past two years. 

Annie, plain & simple.  You would think after the first season, she would start to blend in a little more with her friends, like Brenda did back in the day.   But no, there is no spunk to Annie, in my opinion.  I don't know what Liam see's in her.  I wish him & Naomi worked out instead.   Oh well, she's not a bad character, but she's not my fave.  & I think the show could go on without her.  Dixon, her adopted brother tho, who's from the HBO series, The Wire, is a much better character.  In the first season Annie did get her's, she was hated by the whole school due to the rumour mill & Naomi.  Plus...she hit a guy with her car, dated his nephew/drug dealer, Jasper, (who I actually liked!),  & got caught up in some sticky situations, but at the end of the day, her pals were there for her.
Dixon however, dated Silver in the first season, where we also discovered she was bipolar.  Something else to add to her rough around the edge image.  It didn't work out, & of course they continue on to dating each others friends or kissing other pple, you know, 90210/high school stuff.  It's not that much different from the old show, just more appealing now to  the new generation. 

 Naomi.  The Kelly Taylor of our day.  But thinner & a little bit more confident & mean.  She would be considered a "mean girl", & you don't want to get on her bad side.  She has money & she's used to getting what she wants, except for Liam, which fell apart & her unfortunate incident this season with Mr. Cannon, when she was raped.  Thankfully, he's in jail.  But like someone described her in the previous episdoe I saw, "she's a survivor."  Even when her evil sister Jen came into the picture.  She prevailed at the end, not Jen. 

The crew hanging out, Teddy, Silver, Annie, Navid, & Dixon. 

Adrianna - fromer drug addict, actresss & famous singer.  Adrianna's been thru alot.  She was addicted to hard drugs, & got thru that, more than once.  Once she stayed clean, she found out she was pregnant & decided to do what was best for the baby & give it up, especially b/c it wasn't her boyfriend's, Navid's.  Then she broke out onto the seen in a local band as the lead singer, cuz she actually can sing.  So, one thing led to another and eventually her songs were being played on the radio.  But with consequences, like always.  And this season she has become so self absorbed that she's pushed away her friends & her boyfriend, without even realizing. 

Which brings us to Silver.  Erin Silver.  Name sound familiar!?  Hell yeah.  This is Kelly Taylor's & David Silver's sister.  Jackie Taylor's daughter.  Actually, in the first season we saw Jackie die of breast cancer, Kelly was on the show at that time as a guidance councelor, (Jennie Garth), but we haven't seen her in the newer season.  Silver is the harsher gal.  She has strong opinions and a strong personality, along with her natural good looks and style.  She's been with Dixon, & Teddy, unfortunately both didn't work out.  And you'll see why her & Teddy fell apart very soon.  They were actually a great couple until we all found out that Teddy is secretly gay.  The only person who actually knows that fact yet, is Dixon, who unfortunaly for him, witnesssed Teddy kissing another guy.  But Silver is a survior as well, with her strong capabilities & beliefs, she makes for a great character & friend to all.  In the pic above, Silver is in the newsroom, where she spends her time on extracuricular activities, as well as Navid does.  Mr. Cannon is now in jail, but they're was a moment when we thought he was gonna get Silver too, but the girls got the best of him in the end. 

Now Silver & Navid developed feelings for each other this season, one of the reasons being b/c of Adrianna's increasingly horrific ego & career, so that's now an issue.  I guess we'll see where the show will take that.  Because Silver knows that it will never be OK with Adrianna, even if they were broken up. 

Navid & Adrianna - been together for a long time & been thru thick & thin.  Navid is always there for her, always!

 

Liam: the hot, brooding, "Dylan Mckay", 2010 version.  The guy all the girls want and the hottest guy on the show, without argument.  You know I hear he's dating Jessica Lowndes in real life.  They make a great couple! So Liam is the "I don't care about anything", kinda guy.  Keeps to himself, likes to isolate.  He opened up with Naomi, although it didn't work out & now he has feelings for Annie?? I mean I guess that's ok, but I'd rather see him with someone else!  He's just too hot, plus he's actually a nice guy once you get to know him.  He's just usually so quiet.  But that's the character for you.  Liam has been labeled the "bad boy", I would say.

So I know I didn't go into complete detail of the show, because the idea is of course to watch or if you haven't, rent the previous seasons on DVD.  You won't be disappointed.  I never miss a Monday night 90210, it's what I look forward too all day.  Because right after 90210, my night doesn't end, it almost begins again.  And it begins with, "Gossip Girl."

Gossip Girl has been on longer than 90210, maybe a season or two ahead, so there is alot to say.  But I cannot talk about all the seasons in detail, or I'll never get off the computer. I'm just going thru the basics, of both shows b/c they are definitely post worthy & two of my passions.  Ive written about, "Dexter", &, "The Wire", & I plan on talking about most of the TV shows im really into. 

But like I always do, I take it one post at a time.  This is actually the first time I'm talking about two shows in the same post.  And I only did this because they're on TV back to back.  I'm sure most girls look forward to their Monday nights!

The hot cast of the show includes, Serena VanderWoodsen, (Blake lively), Blair Waldorf, (Leighton Meestor), Dan Humphrey, (Penn Badgely), Chuck Bass, (Ed Westwick), Nate Archibauld, (Chase Crawford, Vanessa, (Jessica Schzor), & Jenny or little J, (Taylor Momsen). 

I got into Gossip Girl after being bullied into watching it by my friends.  I missed the first two seasons, so when I rented them, I ran thru them so freakin fast, b/c I loved it so much, obviously!  Now I knew what I was missing.  From that day on, I've been a huge fan.  I honestly can't even compare it to 90210, b/c there so different, & I like both show's equally. 

Above you pictures Serena & the 3 men of the show.  Serena has been involved with everyone, but Chuck.  I can't even get into all of Serena's stories, b/c she is all over the place.  Sleeping with teachers, running off to find her dad, drugs...everything under the sun.  So like I said, can't get into all those in detail.  Rent or buy the dvds pple! I do want to say that she does have good intentions, she just brings drama with her wherever she goes.  That's why her & Dan can't make it happen.  Or even her & Nate!  But Serena will always find someone.  I'm sure of it.  Serena does have a lil bro Eric, who is gay, and has been thru a lot.  He's a good character and he's friends with Little J or was until she turned into an Upper East side bitch.  See Dan & Jenny are from Brooklyn...so maybe the Upper East side got to her.  I actually think it got to both of them a bit.  But Dan continues to stay grounded, maybe due to his father, Rufus, who is not one of the Upper East side parents.  He is present in their lives and wants them to do the right thing.  Rufus is damn hot for a dad too!  And we were all happy when he finally married Serena's mom, Lily, after all those years.  After Chuck's dad died, (Lily was married to Bart Bass), she finally is with someone she actually loves, plus has a stake in Bass enterprises, making her very wealthy on top her OWN money.  I swear I'm so jealous of these kids, wearing Chanel boots to school!!!

Another situation that has been going on for years is Blair and Chuck.  Yes they freakin love each other.  She lost her virginity to him, a moment in time, he'll never forget.  And from that moment on, it's been Blair and Chuck games every episode, which are great of course, cuz there are no better devious minds on the Upper East side like theirs.  If they want to ruin you, they will.  There actually perfect together, & they know it, but can't be together b/c of that.  I know it's a bit weird.  I just want to them to be together & stay together.  I think everyone does!  I really thought they had that chance, until Chuck & Jenny screwed that up for good.  But like I said, these two have serious feelings for each other, & are both to stubborn to admit it.  So, they're "friends", for now...again.  

Typical Chuck Bass style, confident, sexy & wealthy.  Ed Westwick is awesome playing him.  In real life, Ed has this fucking hot accent, & he's dating Jessica Schzor, who plays Vanessa.  Right now, Chuck is trying to save Bass Industries, & his father's name. 

The way they were....& the way they should be! Blair & Chuck. 

Now I can't mention Gossip Girl without mentioning the hot and cold relationship between besties, Serena & Blair.  Now I would never talk to my friends this way.  If Blair doesn't like someone Serena's dating, let's say, Blair will have no problem speaking her mind, well really on any matter, she has some sort of opinion.  She's a bit harsh a on Serena, but I guess tough love is what Serena needs sometimes and she takes it, but then someimes she doesn't.  When she doesn't, the entertainment ensues with girl fights & petty girl stuff.  Like shown below.

They could be arguing in the above pic, i'm  not sure.  But damn, these girls have tried to really destroy each other, especially Blair.  When she puts her mind to dominating a situation or someone, she does. 

 Chuck & Nate.  I love Chuck's advice...it usually ends up helping him in the endgame. 

Again, I'm not going into all of the seasons, but I have to mention Michelle Trachtenberg, who played reoccuring character, Georgina.  Georgina was Serena's friend from the past, but let's just say, she is the villian.  

   She has caused so much drama for everyone, from "home videos", to blackmail, she's screwed them all.  And now she is really banned from their crew.  Blair has the "bans", under control, most of the time.   

This season, they brought in a charcter that had it out for Serena.  She almost killed her actually, by trying to set her up.  Which almost worked with Serena's past, everyone was ready to put her away.  Dan & Nate were gonna give up on her, but of course the powerful crew, meaning mostly Blair & Chuck got to the truth in the end. 

You gotta feel bad for Nate sometimes.  He's such a good guy, his father went to jail for fraud, now he's out and just causing more problems for Nate.  It seemed like he was the happiest when he was with Vanessa, which of course fell apart in the big scheme of things, but I'd like to see him happy.  The bitch below, Juliet, was the girl who tried to "get" Serena, by using him. 

Juliet's mission was to destroy Serena.  She made her way into the show this season by going to Columbia, first trying to friend pple like Serena & Blair, then turn pple against each other, all while playing with Nate's head.  She was a good charcter, but at the end Blair & Chuck "banned" her.  If she comes back, she'll have to deal with them. 

Jenny Humphrey, Dans little sister.  In the first season, she was almost a victim of the Upper East side girls, running errands for them, doing whatever Blair said and then she finally grew up.  But I think she grew into a bitch.  She was such a sweet girl back then.  Now she's banned from the UES! 

Banned b/c she did something stupid, so stupid.  She & Chuck slept together.  Chuck did it just because he thought Blair was going to say no, when in fact, she was gonna say yes.  I'm not sure why little J did it, probably cuz she wanted to rebel.  She hated Serena because Nate always had this crush on her, so she tried to meddle & it just bit her in the ass.  All Jenny's meddling so far, has gotten her nowhere, in my opinion. 

The ongoing "relationship" & non-stop flirting between Serena & Dan.  You thought that would of stopped when their parents got married, but i guess not! They do have a connection, i can even admit that, it's just not meant to be.  They are way too different!  Actually this season, the one I'm watching right now, it looks like something might happen between him & Blair, which would be so suprising for the audience & for them as well, b/c they're supposed to hate each other, but they don't. :)

Vanessa & Dan, friends before everything.  They dated for awhile, but things got messed up, of course.  Vanessa & Dan have always been there for each other, but jealousy of course set in with Vanessa eventually, always losing out to Serena or having to go up against Blair or one of them.  She's not an upper east sider like Dan, so she was the most down to earth gal they had for awhile, but I guess you can't hang with that crew & not change, (& not for the worse).

Lily & Rufus. Serena's mom, Dan & Jenny's dad.  Poor Rufus sometimes, is all I have to say.  The things he does for love.  He moved out of Brooklyn to be with Lily in her place, which is HUGE, & they have genuine love for each other.  But Lily is in a different league then Rufus, she is capable of doing things that are unethical, whereas you always see Rufus as the disappointed husband, or father, for that matter. 

I posted this pic to show the looks of Blair & Chuck and how alike they actually are.  This is when Jenny was confronted with what she did, (watch the show)....& they're basically telling her to stay away, which she has been.  You don't want to mess with Blair or Chuck.  Or them together!

So, that actually was really hard for me to write.  I wanted to describe everything to a tee, but that's just impossible, if I want a life outside of blogging.  I just hope that you got a feel for the two shows & if you haven't tuned in, to do so.  Because these are shows that once you start watching, you're hooked.  Plus as girls, we need these kinda shows...to watch without our boyfriends or husbands.  Have a glass a wine or spark up a blunt to enjoy a roundup of Monday night bliss. 

To 90210 & Gossip Girl....if they were canceled, I don't know what i'd do!!!!

Gonna watch Due Date tonight with Robert Downey Jr & Alan from, "The Hangover".  Zack something, I can't remember right now.  He is hilarious and I love Robert Downey!!!  I wouldn't be surprised if i was writing about that this weekend.  I guess we'll see!  But stay tuned for more music, fashion, & MY world.
